Deanna’s senior pictures!

October 30th, 2008

Deanna rocked it. No two ways about it, she was amazing during her session!
Deanna chose to do a Hatcher Pass session as well as her studio session. We headed up to the Pass and got some really awesome images in and around the water.
Deanna is a natural in front of the camera. I’m so glad I had the chance to shoot her!

Courtney is so gorgeous.
She has the most perfect skin ever, and I LOVE the style of jackets she wears. I wanted to take home a couple of her outfits for myself. :)
Courtney came to the studio with a quiet personality. I let that personality shine in her images. She made some really beautiful pictures.

I blogged Claire’s family the other day. And here is Claire’s very own blogspot! :)
Claire came back to the studio for her senior pictures. It was fun to work with her again. It was almost like the family session was a great “prep” session for us, when we got to the senior session, Claire was a real pro!
She has the greatest smile and such an awesome sense about her. I love Claire so much!

Morgan & Robert’s wedding in Big Lake, Alaska

October 23rd, 2008

Morgan & Robert are from Fairbanks, Alaska and they decided to have their BEAUTIFUL wedding in Big Lake, Alaska at one of my favorite places to shoot; Sunset View. We were greeted with a lovely, crisp fall day for Morgan and Robert’s wedding. The decorations and “feel” of the day totally complimented the weather and the season.
These two were so full of fun all day! I loved laughing with Morgan and all her friends as they came through the getting ready area to hug her and celebrate this wonderful day. Robert had a quiet sense about him, but if you hung around long enough, he had you smiling and laughing with his subtle personality and funny ways.
I completely enjoyed all of the friends and family that came from FAR and near (but mostly FAR) to celebrate this day with Morgan and Robert. This day was a special celebration of marriage and an awesome “play day” for the Leaf Kids who graced the wedding! Instead of flower girls and ring bearers, Morgan asked her “kids” she teaches to join her and Robert by walking down the aisle and tossing (or throwing, or jumping in or playing with) fall leaves. It was so awesome!
These kids truly enjoyed the day, and it was such a treat to see how much they loved Morgan and how excited they were to share in her day.
Morgan and Robert, thank you so much for giving me the honor of sharing such a sweet day with the two of you. So many amazing adventures are ahead for you both, and how wonderful you will be able to enjoy it all together!

Tana & Brian’s wedding in Seward, Alaska!

October 18th, 2008

Tana and Brian brought me back to Seward for their sweet wedding. I love shooting in Seward, it’s among my favorite towns in Alaska and holds many memories for me as a child and (especially) as a teenager.
Tana and Brian are just the nicest couple you’ll ever meet. So laid back and easy going! The day reflected their nature through and through. It was a wonderful afternoon of celebration with their dear friends and family.
The day began at the First Methodist church in Seward, and then progressed to the Seward Windsong Lodge where I just love to shoot, with its gorgeous views and rustic decor. Brian and Tana kept things simple with the reception and really let the natural beauty of Seward, Alaska shine through. I’m so glad they did this, as it is really such an amazing place– hardly anything extra is needed!
I enjoyed celebrating this special day with Brian and Tana. I loved watching them together, all day they held hands and stood so close together. It was beautiful to see the bond between them. Their friends and family were comfortable and relaxed all day. I enjoyed many wonderful conversations with family members. What a great day for a wedding!
I wish you both the very best in your new life together! May your days be filled with joy!

Brett & Debbie’s Family pictures

October 17th, 2008

With the holidays fast approaching, we’re starting to see more families in the studio. I love this time of year, as it typically brings me babies and children I haven’t seen since last year (at this same time!). I love the catch-up time I have with the kids. It’s always so fun to spend some time with the parents too as we compare notes on what has been done for the upcoming holidays (usually not enough) and what still needs to be done (usually too much!).
Brett and Debbie came in just before the snow started to fly. I LOVE photographing their awesome little boy. He’s quite a ham! He was in especially high spirits this day and gave us so much to work with. He had all of us laughing right along with him, and our laughter just egged him on even more. So cute!
