Matt & Rachel’s wedding in Seattle, Washington

October 31st, 2009

Rachel put a lot of faith in me when she opted to hire me for her Seattle wedding. You see, Rachel doesn’t even live in Alaska. But I didn’t even have to think twice about the opportunity to fly to Seattle (“right next door” for us Alaskans) and document this wonderful day for this couple.

I wasn’t the only Alaskan at this event. Rachel’s family welcomed me with open arms and I was so excited to work with them again. You see, Rachel’s sister is Danielle, bride from a wedding I shot last summer. Rachel and Danielle have one sister left, and where ever she wants to get married, I’ve already let them know, I’ll be there too!

Rachel and Matt opted for my two photographer coverage and I was accompanied by my dear friend and AMAZING photographer, Amy, from Illinois.

Anna & Jimbo’s wedding at the Talkeetna Lodge

October 28th, 2009

More weddings! And this one’s a doozy.

I’ve known Anna’s family, socially, for several years now. I had the honor of photographing Anna when she was a senior in high school. Jimbo’s family, well, I’ve been friends with his cousin since elementary school (we’re Valley, that’s about all that needs to be said!).  When Anna came to me and asked me to photograph her wedding, I could hardly contain myself! Just from knowing how creative her mom was, and knowing Jimbo’s extended family like I do… I had no doubt this wedding was going to be one of the ones I’d remember through out my career.

These amazing people did not disappoint.

Jimbo & Anna were married at the gorgeous Talkeetna Lodge in my all time favorite town in Alaska, Talkeetna!

Lots of images in this entry. I’m sorry I couldn’t narrow it down. But you’ll understand, there’s some serious history with these folks. :)

Erik goes to school in Hawaii.

Jealous?

Yeah. I know. I’m still trying to plan my trek back to the islands for some more snorkeling, Erik gets to do that ANY. TIME. SHE WANTS.

Plus she’s gorgeous.

I loved this shoot.

Sky is one of the gals I consider to be “mine.” She’s an All Star cheerleader for Denali and has cheered with my daughter for years now. She’s strong and funny and a GREAT friend to my girl (a good influence, too!).

Sky also gives the best hugs ever. I love it!

When Skylor’s parents came to me about scheduling her senior pictures, I was so excited to get to have this girl in front of my lens for something other than cheerleading. Sky did NOT disappoint.

She’s beautiful. And it shows in every single shot.

Love you Sky… the world is at your feet, I can’t wait to see where you go!

Katie is CUTE.

Adorable.

Sweet.

Squishable! (she’s gonna hate that last adjective)

Katie is a tiny, little cup of perfection and I am SO GLAD she chose me to shoot her senior pictures. It was a blast!
