Blake’s third The First Year session
Blake returned for her third session in her The First Year session series and she shined, as usual. Brett and Debbie also opted for a family session where we got the whole crew involved!

Today was such a beautiful winter day! I was working from home (I love Mondays, I always work from home on Mondays!), enjoying the gorgeous light and fresh snow from my office window. At about 3:30pm I realized I simply couldn’t handle it anymore, I had to get out there and do some shooting!
I haven’t done much personal shooting this winter, and today provided me with the opportunity to get outside and capture the beauty I get to see every single day.
People from Outside ask me all the time; “Do you ever get used to living in a place like Alaska?”
The answer is; Absolutely not!
I’ve lived here my entire life. As has my father and his father before him. I’ve seen so much of Alaska on foot, by plane, by car, snowmachine, ATV… and no, I never get numb to the greatness and beauty that surrounds me. Even the simple act of taking my son to school each morning doesn’t go without noticing the awesomeness that is everywhere.
Everything I got today was accessible by 4-wheel drive. I can’t imagine living here with out one. I push my beloved rig to the limit and she always gets me where I need to go.
This was all shot in a two hour time frame. From about 3:45pm to 5:45pm I watched the sunset and the temp drop about 17º.

Yeah, I really love living here.
