Brian & Andrea’s family session on the Matanuska River!

September 30th, 2011

I get to see this family every year for pictures. They always come in around the same time so they have plenty of time to get their holiday cards out. Every year I look forward to this group as, every year, these kids get funnier! :)
This year we headed out to Matanuska River and enjoyed a wonderful late evening sun.

Emily came in for her senior session during the most perfect time of the Fall season. We had great weather and a great gal to shoot… I could not have been more pleased with the way everything turned out!

Lindsey & Travis’ Wedding at Settler’s Bay in Wasilla, Alaska

September 27th, 2011

Lindsey and Travis were meant to be.
That’s what their friends and family reminded me all day on their wedding. Friends for many years, it just made sense when they started dating. And the wedding, well, it was obvious the wedding had been anticipated by many for a long time. The celebration was QUITE a party for these two and I couldn’t be more proud to have been a part!

Kelsie & Matt’s wedding at Virgin Creek Falls in Girdwood, Alaska!

September 25th, 2011

I connected with Matt & Kelsie pretty much immediately. We all have a love of the outdoors, dogs and FJ Cruisers. Really, what more could matter in life?
Their wedding was so sweet and I was so excited to be a part of the celebration. These two opted to get ready together (I love this! I find it so romantic) and held a small, intimate ceremony down in Girdwood at Virgin Creek Falls. This meant a bit of a hike to the falls, but that was okay because the adventure was part of the day. After the ceremony we headed to their home in Anchorage for a wonderful reception catered by my favorite catering company, Alaska Events & Catering.
Matt & Kelsie did things a bit differently than most of my other couples. While they opted for a full day’s worth of coverage, most of the time we spent together was traversing the woods of Girdwood and rest stops between Girdwood and Anchorage for pictures of just the two of them together. LOVED that! We had a blast together and the images, I think, really show how wonderful the day was for these two. :)

Brett & Debbie’s family portraits PART II

September 21st, 2011

Brett & Debbie have been visiting my studio since 2004 and every visit prompts me to try and do something just a little different for them. After all, like any relationship, we like to keep things spicy!
This time we went on location and took advantage of the unique and rugged beauty of Alaska’s fall time. Of course, Alaska fall weather is always changing and we ended up braving some pretty awesome winds that kicked up the silt across the Valley. But the views we had were outstanding, and Brody and Blake were loving the big open space to run and be silly.
I had a BLAST doing this session!

Brett & Debbie family portraits PART I

September 21st, 2011

One of the things I’m most proud of as a photographer is the truly amazing client relationships I get to develop through my business.
Brett & Debbie are exactly the type of relationship I cherish so much. I’ve mentioned them before as I just can’t get enough of this family!
Recently they came in for family portraits and their visit prompted me to go back through their file and take a little walk down memory lane. This blog entry is showcasing one image from almost every session I’ve done for this family. The only images missing are the eight sessions we did for their children’s The First Year sessions… because really, posting those as well might be overkill. :)

2004, Engagement session.

2005, WEDDING!

2006, First Family session.

2007, Maternity session. (Debbie, you are one hot pregnant Mama!)

2008, Family session. (this is also in the middle of Brody’s The First Year program)

2009, Family session. (this is in the middle of Blake’s The First Year program)

2010, Family session.

2011, Family session. (and my most favorite session yet!)
