The day dawned bright and chilly. Not a cloud in the sky. I was super excited for this outdoor wedding at the end of February on the lake in Wasilla.
Tanya and Jeremiah opted for outdoor photos (smart choice!) before their ceremony. We headed to Palmer to get some images with the mountain scenes in the background. Right around the time we arrived in Palmer, the WIND arrived with us! And with that, those comfortable 17ºF temps went plummeting as the wind chill gave a new meaning to the term FREEZING. The dry snow pelted us like little bits of hail and everyone huddled together for warmth between shots.
Honestly, we could not have had a more fun time! Sure it was windy (understatement of the decade, right there), and cold, but this was a group ready to party and enjoy the celebration of Tanya and Jeremiah! So celebrate we did!
I think this wedding is such an excellent example of just going with the flow. No need to get hung up on the weather because I will always promise you this one thing… however far you’re willing to go for images, I’m always willing to go just a little bit further.

Ross and Natalie booked me many months ago for their AUTUMN wedding. However, Ross is serving our country in the military and as a result, sometimes plans get changed.
The couple moved their wedding up several weeks to accomodate Ross’ new orders, and did an amazing job making everything work together for a simply fabulous, SUMMER wedding. The wedding ceremony was held at Lazy Mountain Bible Church in Palmer while the reception was at Evangelo’s in Wasilla.
I SO enjoyed working with this sweet couple. Ross and Natalie have been nothing short of a dream to shoot for. Their families provided me with so many laughs and GREAT photo ops! The teamwork and support through out the day for this couple was completely awesome. And the dancing was amazing! I love a good party when that dance floor is crazy full of folks really enjoying themselves!
I was also excited about this wedding because Natalie’s sister is also one of The Picture Lady brides. I’ll be shooting her wedding in a few months, I’m really excited to be able to see, at least half, of the Ross & Natalie friends/family again!
Congratulations to both of you. May you have many years of wonderful, wonderful moments ahead!
