Mike & JoAnna’s wedding at The Inn at Tern Lake and Windsong Lodge

September 13th, 2010

This is a wedding I’ve been looking forward to all year long!

JoAnna and her family are dear, old friends and when I heard she was getting married, I couldn’t have been more happy for her. Then, when I got the call to do the wedding, I was kind of over the moon! :)

Mike and JoAnna had a fabulous wedding at the Inn at Tern Lake with a *HUGE* reception at the Windsong Lodge in Seward, Alaska.

The rain, unfortunately, didn’t take a break on the day of the wedding. But it sure didn’t dampen any spirits! If anything, it made the entire day more adventurous!

Tana & Brian’s wedding in Seward, Alaska!

October 18th, 2008

Tana and Brian brought me back to Seward for their sweet wedding. I love shooting in Seward, it’s among my favorite towns in Alaska and holds many memories for me as a child and (especially) as a teenager.
Tana and Brian are just the nicest couple you’ll ever meet. So laid back and easy going! The day reflected their nature through and through. It was a wonderful afternoon of celebration with their dear friends and family.
The day began at the First Methodist church in Seward, and then progressed to the Seward Windsong Lodge where I just love to shoot, with its gorgeous views and rustic decor. Brian and Tana kept things simple with the reception and really let the natural beauty of Seward, Alaska shine through. I’m so glad they did this, as it is really such an amazing place– hardly anything extra is needed!
I enjoyed celebrating this special day with Brian and Tana. I loved watching them together, all day they held hands and stood so close together. It was beautiful to see the bond between them. Their friends and family were comfortable and relaxed all day. I enjoyed many wonderful conversations with family members. What a great day for a wedding!
I wish you both the very best in your new life together! May your days be filled with joy!

Aleta & Ben’s wedding at Seward Windsong Lodge

August 24th, 2008

Such a great wedding!
Aleta first contacted me by phone. She and Ben are from Chicago and were planning a wedding in her childhood home state, ALASKA. They wanted to get married in Seward, Alaska (one of my favorite towns!) because the town held so many memories for Aleta. I was so happy and excited that they chose me to be a part of this amazing day!
They chose the Seward Windsong Lodge for their wedding and reception. I love this lodge! I enjoying staying here whenever I’m in Seward as it provides a nice escape from reality, and this time of year, that escape is something I need sometimes! The lodge and the weather were beyond perfect for this wedding! It was simply wonderful!
Ben and Aleta’s friends and family flew up for the wedding and I so enjoyed their company. So many great moments with this crew, and SO much laughter! They made me feel right at home all day. Aleta even brought a special gift for me from Chicago. In our initial conversations we discussed my love of a Chicago chocolate mint candy. Aleta remembered that conversation and went through QUITE an adventure in getting me a box of Frango mints and having them brought up to Alaska for me. It was truly a joint adventure between her and a few of her friends.
I SO appreciated the thought AND the mints!
Congratulations Ben & Aleta. I so enjoyed being a part of your day and watching the two of you make this commitment.

to each other. I wish you all the best in the years to come, and the next time I’m in Chicago, we’ll have dinner!
