I think the most important thing anyone should know about me is that I love what I do.

I’ve been a professional photographer since 1993 when I began by working in a children’s portrait studio. My entire adult life I’ve never had another career and I take great pride in providing some of the very best imagery you’ll find.

I tend to see people in their best light and I love making images that showcase the way people feel on the inside. Everyone who sits in front of my camera is beautiful, special, fun, and filled with greatness. Capturing those traits in an image is what I consider to be my highest calling as a photographer.

The Picture Lady studio began in Melissa’s home in 2000. In just over a decade the studio has grown from that tiny home space to the 1600 square foot storefront you see today.

We are located in the Mat-Su Valley and enjoy the reputation of being known as one of Alaska’s most prestigious studios. Our clients visit us from all over the state as well as Outside.

The studio is open to the public Tuesday through Friday from 11am-6pm. Other days and times are available by appointment.

We welcome everyone to drop by and chat with us about commissioning Melissa for portraits or your wedding. We also love to give studio tours and are happy to allow visitors to tour our space and enjoy the photographic work that grace our walls.
