Poodles eligible to breed here at Galavanting Poodles will have completed the following:

EVALUATIONS

Hip Dysplasia exam through OFA or PennHIP
Yearly eye exam by an ACVO boarded veterinary ophthalmologist
Thyroid evaluation through an OFA approved lab
Heart evaluation by an ACVIM boarded veterinary cardiologist
Genetic testing for vWD, NE and DM

Do you accept that a standard poodle will require regular grooming, including haircuts, every 6-8 weeks?

Poodles have hair that grows, constantly, all over their body. Poodle hair is just like human hair and will require regular grooming. If you are not prepared to dedicate yourself to having your poodle groomed, either professionally or by yourself, please reconsider applying for a poodle puppy.

I would love to hear a brief explanation of what activities you plan to do with your poodle

Hiking, regular walks, training classes, dog social meet-ups, backyard play, performance sports... poodles aren't picky! As long as a poodle can participate in activities with their favorite people, they will be happy dogs!

Are you comfortable with a Skype, Zoom or Facetime call with Melissa?

Once a poodle pregnancy is confirmed, the process to place puppies will begin in earnest. I would love to sit down and speak, face-to-face, with interested puppy buyers. I believe this is the best way for you to learn about my philosophy for Galavanting puppies. I also feel that this will give me a good sense of who you are so I can best determine the perfect puppy for your home.
