The Labrador Retriever is the most popular breed in the United States.
Many of the dogs I photograph are mixed with the Labrador breed. I love working with these lovable dogs because they always bring extra joy to their photo sessions. I have quite a few clients who are loved by Lab mixes, and when I get to have them AND their lovable mix breed in front of my camera, I know it’s going to be a good day!
Monica is one such client and she contacted me about photographing her senior pictures in Hatcher Pass. I don’t normally photograph high school seniors much anymore. But Monica’s family has been been a part of my studio for many years. I tend to call sweet clients like them, my “legacy clients.” And when they call, I’m always willing to oblige their requests!
We headed up to Hatcher Pass in the late afternoon to catch the best light.
Monica brought along her adorable Labrador Retriever mix dog and we set to work. Photographing Monica is easy! She is a natural in front of the camera and Monica’s love for her dog shows through the lens.
Hatcher Pass turned out to be the perfect backdrop for Monica’s senior pictures. Although, it is my opinion that you can’t go wrong when photographing people and dogs in the Alaska mountains!
Monica and her Lab mix dog felt right at home in the mountains and the rivers. I honestly felt like my only job was to be on hand to photograph their relationship. Both Monica and her pup were just so easy together!
